Meet the Navigators: Kissing Crows Cyclery - Swift Industries

Now in its ninth year, Swift Campout is a global call to adventurous spirits, encouraging people to pack up gear and pedal to their favorite camping spot during the summer solstice. The event weaves together communities from all over the world and showcases each communities’ distinctive love affair with cycling. To capture the magic of the event, we’ve called upon a handful of shops and individuals to design an overnighter that takes folks to their favorite local site– those tasked with leading the rides are called, Navigators. Each Navigator will have their own feature that tells a bit about them and their Campout.

Say howdy to Kissing Crows Cyclery, an adventure-seeking bike shop located in Vancouver, BC.

Hi, Kissing Crows! Tell us about your shop!

We are Vancouver’s every-person’s shop. Kissing Crows Cyclery focuses on integrating service and sales excellence and expertise with an inclusive and wholesome vibe. We sell bikes from a wide variety of makers including All-City, Bassi, Surly, Salsa, Velo Orange, Rodeo Labs, Fairdale, and we are largely known for our custom bike program and our premium hand-built wheels. We also run an international webstore as Kissing Crows Outpost. We encourage everyone from first time pedallers to retired racers to come by. We promise to be your favourite neighbourhood bike shop.

What does Swift Campout mean to you?

Swift Campout is an international call to action and we will rise to the call every time. The bicycle is a vehicle of liberation and the act of pedalling to camp is a profound resistance. Camping by bike is an achievement that says, “I will arrive at my own pace, in my own way.”

Can you tell us a bit about your Campout this year? Anything meaningful about your route and why you want to share this with your community?

The Kissing Crows Cyclery ‘Murder of Crows’ Campout 2023 will be headed to Porpoise Bay Provincial Park on the weekend proceeding the Summer Solstice. We’ll be covering a moderately difficult, paved route of about 65kms with a big ferry crossing in the middle. Everyone is welcome!

Can you drop some registration info & how to register?

We are not limiting participants. We heard a legend that last year, alongside our friends from @foundinthemountains, there were over 100 people! You can find the registration information and liability waiver on our website at www.kissingcrowscyclery.com/events.
