Without a rack: The Zeitgeist Pack plays nicely with bikes that have a minimum of 11″ from the center of the handlebars/saddle loops to the top of the tire or fender.

Handlebar width compatibility
Width of the Zeitgeist Pack including the materials with side pockets are folded up: 39cm wide.
Width of the Zeitgeist Pack when side pockets are full: 48cm wide.
Step 1: Measure the spacing of your handlebars, inside-to-inside, at the hoods.
Step 2: If you have integrated shifting, enlist a friend to engage the levers fully into the center space between the bars, and measure the space from tip-to-tip.
Clearance (height) specs for use at the handlebars and on the saddle
You’ll need a minimum of 11” of space between your bicycle handlebars and the top of your front or rear tire to use the Zeitgeist Pack without a support or rack. Keep in mind that a weighted down pack may sag into the wheel, and pay attention to avoid abrasion.

You may need to engage the cord lock on the lash cord attached to the daisy chain on the back of the bag. If the cord lock is not gripping the shock cord, compress the button end down hard until you hear a click. This means the cord lock is fully engaged and will lock onto the shock cord when static.

Top quality and practical
I've been using the Zeitgeist for over 2 months on my tour, often in rugged terrain. It moves around a bit of course but stays perfectly snapped to the handlebar. At first I was worried if the flap was covering the content completely but after a full week of rain there was no drop of water inside.
Use is kinda practical, I use it mainly for my camera gear, There are 4 steps to access the content so it's not as easy to pull it on the fly while riding like a magnetic flap. But it's easy enough no big hassle, safe passage of the cargo is more important to me.
What I would have liked to see is a small internal pocket, either in the body or inside the flap, just to keep small easy access items. Like a thin wallet or passport.
And also a Europe shipping base please! I paid half of the bag's value for the customs tax. (Shipment to the NL from the US)

Does anyone know if this bag would fit 42cm salsa cowchippers drop bars ? If so I’m buying right now !

Thanks for the review of the Zeitgeist! The Zeitgeist Pack might feel too snug when riding in the drop position with 42cm Cowchippers when the pockets are packed full, potentially a little snug with 44cm, but should definitely work with the 46cm and up (if you don't know already, when going wider with bars, you may need a shorter stem, FYI!).

SO glad I finally bought one
I've wanted a Zeitgeist bag since forever. I already have a Paloma on a 90s-era Trek that I used to use for randonneuring, and I bought a Catalyst earlier this year that I've been using on my gravel bike. I was worried that the Zeitgeist would be too big, so I hemmed and hawed for a ridiculously long time. Fortunately, I just couldn't shake the feeling of wanting one. So I took advantage of Swift's killer sale and ordered it. I received and installed the bag last week, and I freaking LOVE it!! I cannot wait to use it on the week-long trip I have planned in August. It fits the space between my 44cm Whisky No.7 12F drop bars perfectly, and there's plenty of clearance underneath even when the bag is loaded. The plastic insert ensures that the bag holds its shape nicely whether empty or full, and no matter what you have in it. Despite the reasonably low profile of the exterior, the bag's capacity is cavernous. I was able to shove a camp chair and my tent in there without even opening up the bag's skirt, and there was still room to spare. The bag's construction is rock solid. Swift makes exceptionally high-quality, smartly designed gear. Bonus: they always send along the best stickers with your order.

Pretty good for a large handlebar bag
I got a black Zeitgeist for my wife as a Christmas present. Overall it's been quite good. The bag is capacious, and seems sturdy enough.
However, the bungee in the inner lining did break after very little use, and now has come out completely, which is annoying.
It's probably also worth mentioning that there are some downsides to large handlebar bags--these aren't problems with the Zeitgeist bag specifically, though. For one, a large bag takes up a lot of handlebar space, meaning fewer hand positions are left available. For two, it does rub on the cables, even with the foam spacers. This hasn't caused a problem yet but makes me a little nervous. For three, if you don't want it on your bars 100% of the time, it's a *little* bit annoying to take off and on. Again, those aren't really problems with Swift's product, these are just comments on large handlebar bags in general. It's why I personally now prefer a rack to put stuff on.
But overall if you want a large handlebar bag and are aware of the above, then I think this is a solid choice. Maybe we just go unlucky with the bungee.
