Please be aware that for much of 2026, we will be transitioning fabrics and you may notice that some black and coyote products are offered in the new SI600X and others are offered in our old EPXL400. 

Here are the physical differences between the two materials: 

  • SI600X looks and feels similar to classic Cordura while EPLX400 is shinier and smoother to the touch. If you have two bags each made out of different fabric, the difference is visible to the naked eye.
  • Coyote in SI600X is lighter than the EPLX400 predecessor, and we've added our iconic pink shock cord to the new run of bags.
  • The SI600X is a higher denier than the EPLX400, making it more abrasion resistant, and also nominally heavier (hardly perceptible).

Here are the physical similarities between the two materials:

  • Both are made out of post-consumer, recycled plastics.
  • A waterproof film with a reinforcing thread-grid add equal structure and strength to both materials.
  • Both are PFAS free.
  • We stand equally behind the premium quality of both materials. 

Why are we offering two different textiles at the same time? 

We're a small company, and inventory management and a fabric overhaul like this is super complex. In an ideal world we would have run out of the EPLX400 exactly at the same time as we introduced the SI600X, but sadly, inventory management doesn't usually come that easy. This approach is an effort to be as fiscally responsible as we can be.
