Love these! I know there were complaints about the closure engineering and ability to open/close the pouch with one hand, but I made a couple mods that worked out well. I put a new longer shock cord through the eyelets and attached a new pinch clasp above the flap/eyelets so I could adjust tension based on the load. Then I put a string loop (really, just a simple loop) on the shock cord where it would catch the metal hook to secure the pocket closed. I can pull down on the string loop when the bag is loaded with one hand and pop the shock cord off the hook. Rehooking the shock cord on the fixed metal piece can be done with one hand by using the loop to guide the shock cord back to the hook. The little pockets are very well made and just the size I needed!
I run the pocket attached to my Wald basket on my Karate Monkey. Great accessory and holds my point-n-shoot camera. Some have complained about the closure being hard to operate and I had the same experience when the pocket is new/empty. Once I put my camera into it, the closure functions well and holds contents securely.
Needed a small pouch with an enclosure to hold compactly a pair of LUPINE smart core batteries for my twin headlights , I have a wishbone handlebar stem and this X PAC pouch can now be held in place with a couple of straps . A simple and effective solution to a problem Swiftly provided from the maestro bag makers .
I got this to carry my Ricoh GR P&S camera on rides, hikes, and in everyday life. Its the perfect size for a compact camera, even a little roomy for the Ricoh. Leaves a bit of room for an extra battery or a couple rolls of film. Would also be ideal for the Fuji X100 series. Super well built, stylish, and functional like all of Swift's products.
Transitions seamlessly from use as a belt pouch to the wald basket on my townie using the molle straps. Also can use it on my gravel bike by mounting it to the bars with velcro onewrap loops. Or, it protects my camera if I decide to shove it my frame bag.
I do agree with other reviewers that the closure can be a little finicky to operate with one hand if the pocket isn't stuffed full. With my camera inside it works well though. If they just added a somewhat rigid insert to stiffen up the flap I think this issue would be resolved.
But yeah, agreeing with the majority here that closing this thing only works about 1/3 of the time while riding. I might try bending the metal out so it's a better hook? Holds my phone and some stickers A+++ though and molle attachment is A+++ but when I'm riding and tired and the last thing I need to annoy me is my bag.
