Rando Pocket
Rando Pocket
The Rando Pocket is an accessory bag fit to carry a small repair kit, wallet, keys, a cell phone or a small point-and-shoot camera. Designed as the perfect match for our most revered bicycle bags, the Rando Pocket attaches to our Kestrel Handlebar Bag, Ardea Pack, and Anchor Hip Pack, and mounts to the Wald 137 Front Basket to upgrade any kit.
Add versatility to your favorite set-up: The Rando Pocket weaves securely onto the Wald 137 Basket using standard MOLLE attachment, and feeds onto our Kestrel Handlebar Bag, Anchor Hip Pack, and Ardea Pack to add space for your small belongings. The Rando Pocket is padded to protect your point-and-shoot camera, and is the ideal pouch to keep repair supplies at arm’s reach. Because the attachment mechanism is universal to the MOLLE system, our Rando Pocket is the perfect addition to any bag that features MOLLE webbing.
The Rando Pocket is made out of Challenge ECOPAK 100% recycled polyester and contains roughly 1 plastic bottles rescued from ocean beaches.

I got this to carry my Ricoh GR P&S camera on rides, hikes, and in everyday life. Its the perfect size for a compact camera, even a little roomy for the Ricoh. Leaves a bit of room for an extra battery or a couple rolls of film. Would also be ideal for the Fuji X100 series. Super well built, stylish, and functional like all of Swift's products.
Transitions seamlessly from use as a belt pouch to the wald basket on my townie using the molle straps. Also can use it on my gravel bike by mounting it to the bars with velcro onewrap loops. Or, it protects my camera if I decide to shove it my frame bag.
I do agree with other reviewers that the closure can be a little finicky to operate with one hand if the pocket isn't stuffed full. With my camera inside it works well though. If they just added a somewhat rigid insert to stiffen up the flap I think this issue would be resolved.
But yeah, agreeing with the majority here that closing this thing only works about 1/3 of the time while riding. I might try bending the metal out so it's a better hook? Holds my phone and some stickers A+++ though and molle attachment is A+++ but when I'm riding and tired and the last thing I need to annoy me is my bag.
Perfect to hold my phone during rides, but I agree with other reviewers that the closure system needs some work. Pulling the cord just makes the flap bunch up, and if the pocket isn't stuffed full, you can't easily secure it without a lot of fiddling. I'm trying to figure out a way to modify it myself to make it easier to use one-handed.
It stayed out. Access was sub par. One handed opening and closing is not available. Must reconfigure the design. Do not recommend until a redesign is made.
I used the Rando Pocket on portions of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. The mounting system and scale of bag are right on. The opening closure system is a fail. The shock cord unknotted along the way and getting the shock cord off and on with one hand is very difficult and very inconvenient. I added a carabiner for quicker access and closure. For the price I would not recommend until the closure-opening system is greatly improved.
Your feedback is appreciated! Insight from customers on performance after a ride like the Great Divide is invaluable.
