Handlebar width compatibility

  • Width of the Zeitgeist Pack including the materials with side pockets are folded up: 39cm wide.
  • Width of the Zeitgeist Pack when side pockets are full: 48cm wide.

Step 1: Measure the spacing of your handlebars, inside-to-inside, at the hoods.

Step 2: If you have integrated shifting, enlist a friend to engage the levers fully into the center space between the bars, and measure the space from tip-to-tip.

Clearance (height) specs for use at the handlebars and on the saddle

You’ll need a minimum of 11” (28cm) of space between your bicycle handlebars and the top of your front or rear tire to use the Zeitgeist Pack without a support or rack. Keep in mind that a weighted down pack may sag into the wheel, and pay attention to avoid abrasion.

With a rack: As little as 8″ (20.5cm) of clearance is required to run the Zeitgeist Pack on the front with a Carradice Universal Bar Rack or the rear Carradice Bagman Support.

The Final Piece of a Perfect Kit

Just picked up my fifth SWF bag, completing the full kit – front, back, frame, pocket, and feed bags. All of them are top-quality: durable, well-designed, and super functional. SWF’s service has been excellent too – responsive and reliable. Can’t recommend them enough!

Best saddle or handlebar bag so far

For many years I have used Carradice saddle bags but the floppiness and fiddly handling with the internal wooden dowel annoyed me.
A bagman QR would solve these issues but I never liked the idea putting all the weight just on a few mm of saddle rails and it weighs as much as proper rack which kills my conception of a saddle bag.
When I saw the design of the Zeitgeist with a dedicated pocket for a stiffener and the external plastic bar I knew it would fit my needs much better and bought one although it is quite expensive.
After a few rides I removed the compression strap because I see no benefit in using it and replaced the elastic drawstring cord by a much stiffer paracord. This makes the handling much easier and more effective.
With a 3D-printed spacer for the 3rd strap around the seat post to avoid thigh contact it is now the perfect saddle bag! :-)

This is the Good Type of Baggage I Want in a Relationship

I got the Zeitgeist Pack, finally, after years of pining over it and have absolutely no regrets. It fits an overnight kit superbly or a 30 pack of tasty beverages (out of box). They've made the mounting and unmounting super easy, but it'll be even easier when I get my bagman rack which I have on a few other bikes.

Works with wide drop handlebars (I have 53cm bars that they fit perfectly in) or flat bars, or behind your saddle, best if you have some support for sag.

I just love this thing. It weighs almost nothing and the color ways are amazing.

Most Versatile bag!

I've tried a few rack and handlebar bags in the last few years, but the Swift Zeitgeist is by far the best one yet. I use volle type straps to affix it to my bike that doesn't have a rack or mounts, bungees for my rasket bike, and a rear bag support under the saddle of my bikepacking rig. All work great!
