Production Manager  

Department: In House Production, Outsourcing, Inventory, Operations

About the Position:

The Production Manager oversees the manufacturing department within Operations. They manage the in-house production crew and external factory partners. They are responsible for purchase order management including  both raw materials and finished goods produced at Swift Industries’ Factory Partners and by Swift Industries in-house production team. 

  • In direct supervision of: 
    • All Swift personnel that qualify as production workers including full time, part time and contract employees. 
    • All external vendors including private cut and sew affiliates and home sewers. 
  • In House production team management
    • Hire and train new In-house production employees, or existing employees on new processes and equipment
    • Coordinate daily, monthly, and annual production schedules to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all sewn product
  • Material management, sourcing and purchasing:
    • Calculate and order raw materials for external factory and in house purchase orders
    • Track and/or deliver raw materials to the Factory Partner’s location
    • Audit raw materials use
    • Manage and delegate material sourcing
    • Forecast monthly materials budget
    • Supplier management 
  • Create and maintain Factory Partner relationships
    • Communicate, monitor and track factory timelines, quality, and materials inventory
  • Responsible for QC of all Factory Partner and Swift sewn product
  • Improve processes and tools to increase productivity under the direction and approval of the Operations Manager
  • Develop SOPs and processes for inventory and material management 
  • Schedule or perform on site equipment maintenance

Key Relationships 

  • The Production Manager works under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, and IS a key player in the operations department. 
  • The Production Manager works as a team or in close coordination with the inventory manager, the bookkeeping department, the technical designer, and the sales team. 

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrable experience with spreadsheet data management 
  • Experience with Quickbooks Raw Materials Inventory Management, or comparable software
  • Proficiency with the Google Suite
  • Comfort within Asana, or a comparable team and project management software
    • Demonstrated understanding of the keys to successful project management

The Sales and Marketing Manager, administers and coordinates all sales and marketing functions and policies of the Company or a major division of the Company. The Sales and Marketing Manager supervises all internal and external Sales, Customer Care and Marketing team members.

Education
