Memorial Weekend is just around the corner and there’s nothing we’d rather do than go bike-camping with you!
Come one, come all bike-campers! Seasoned and newbie cyclists are welcome to join a community ride and bike-campout to Hipcamp’s Stargazer Farm Camp, a swift 26-mile ride east of Portland, OR.
In anticipation of the 2016 Swift Campout, Swift Industries and friends: Hipcamp, Stumptown, Nutcase, Sun Liquor, Limberlost Co. (potentially more tbd!) are excited to bike with, and camp with you under the stars.
We will create a really easy, user-friendly route out to Stargazer Farm, but please know that this is a self-supported ride. Translation: make sure to bring anything you need to survive for the night! That includes, but is not limited to: camping gear (tent, tarp, sleeping bag, headlamp), your bike-camping kitchen, libations (water IS provided at the site! so, anything else that strikes your fancy), and food.
The evening at Stargazer Farm Camp is part of a slightly longer ride we’ll be doing, so we’re encouraging folks to make their way to meet us out at camp on the Sandy River. We’re providing maps and cue sheets to help newbies make their way out to the farm, but we encourage you to follow your favorite route.

Saturday
- This is a self-guided trip! We provide maps and cue sheets, and folks can arrive anytime after 3pm (make sure to BYOF – bring your own food!)
- 5-6pm: Camp cooking demo with Limberlost Co.
- 6pm – later: Evening hang time with Sun Liquor Spirits
- later – later: S’mores & mores
Sunday
- Rise & Shine campstove coffee roasting how-to’s with Stumptown Coffee Roaster’s head roaster, Steve Kirbach
- 11am Slow Roll back to Portland
$27 covers the cost of camping on this stunning farm, and we’ll have some tasty treats for your enjoyment. Hey, and feel free to bring the family along!
We will be sending a detailed packing list and route info out the Monday before the trip. We’re waiting a bit so we can create a packing list that is more weather specific for the forecast!
